Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan peternak itik melalui transfer teknologi budidaya Azolla sebagai pakan alternatif sumber protein lokal untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pada konsentrat komersial. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Takalar, Kabupaten Takalar, dengan mitra kelompok ternak “Taju-ternak” yang beranggotakan delapan peternak. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi permasalahan dan kebutuhan peternak, sosialisasi dan penyuluhan mengenai potensi azolla, pelatihan budidaya azolla melalui demonstrasi kolam sederhana, serta aplikasi pemanfaatan azolla dalam ransum itik dengan proporsi 10–20%. Selain itu, diberikan bantuan mesin pengolah pakan (chopper, penepung, mixer, dan pelet) hasil produksi teaching factory Politeknik Bosowa untuk mendukung efisiensi pengolahan pakan. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peternak, dibuktikan dengan kenaikan nilai rerata dari 68,2 (pre-test) menjadi 88,9 (post-test). Peternak mampu membudidayakan azolla secara mandiri, memanfaatkan mesin pengolah pakan, serta mulai menambahkan azolla dalam ransum itik. Kegiatan ini juga menurunkan biaya pakan dan meningkatkan efisiensi waktu kerja peternak. Disarankan agar kelompok ternak terus mengembangkan budidaya azolla secara berkelanjutan dan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan mesin pakan untuk mendukung kemandirian serta keberlanjutan usaha peternakan itik rakyat.
