How to Withdraw a Manuscript

The corresponding author should contact the JPPMI editorial office to request withdrawal. After the request and author agreement have been verified, the editorial office will update the manuscript's status in OJS on behalf of the authors.

1. Requirements for a Valid Withdrawal Request

The request should be submitted by the corresponding author, who confirms that all co-authors are aware of and agree with the decision to withdraw. The email must include:

  • Complete manuscript title;
  • Manuscript ID, when available;
  • Original submission date;
  • Full names of the corresponding author and all co-authors;
  • A concise and truthful reason for withdrawal;
  • A clear statement that every co-author agrees to the withdrawal; and
  • Corresponding-author affiliation, registered email address, and date of request.

2. Withdrawal Process

Author request

The corresponding author sends the complete request to the editorial office.

Verification

The journal verifies manuscript identity, authorship agreement, editorial stage, and any unresolved concern.

OJS update

After verification, the editorial office records the withdrawal and stops routine processing.

Confirmation

The journal sends written confirmation to the corresponding author.

To avoid duplicate submission, authors should retain the withdrawal request and, where practicable, wait for written acknowledgement before submitting the manuscript to another journal.

3. Policy by Editorial Stage

Stage Editorial handling Important note
Before external review The request is verified and processing may be closed. Provide a reason and confirmation from all authors.
During peer review or revision Review or revision processing is stopped after verification. The journal may notify reviewers that processing has ended.
After acceptance, before publication Production may be stopped after verification. If the APC has been paid, the journal's Refund Policy applies.
After publication A published article cannot be treated as a simple manuscript withdrawal. Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are handled under the post-publication policy.
