Publication Fee Waiver Policy
Media Publikasi Cendekia Indonesia (MPCI) is committed to supporting the broad and inclusive dissemination of scientific knowledge. We recognize that Article Processing Charges (APCs) may present a barrier for some researchers, particularly those without institutional funding or research grants. Therefore, we offer a Waiver Policy to ensure that high-quality articles can be published regardless of financial constraints.
1. Eligibility Criteria
A publication fee waiver may be granted to authors who meet one of the following criteria:
-
Unfunded Researchers: Authors who do not receive research grants or publication funding from any institution, university, or funding agency.
-
Students (Undergraduate/Postgraduate): The lead author is an active student conducting independent research without financial sponsorship.
-
Special Circumstances: Authors experiencing demonstrable financial hardship or crises.
2. Waiver Amount
MPCI does not offer full fee waivers. We provide partial waivers subject to the following conditions:
-
The maximum discount granted is 25% of the total Article Processing Charge (APC).
-
The exact amount of the fee reduction will be evaluated and determined on a case-by-case basis by the Editorial Board.
-
Note to authors: Please be advised that APC funds are utilized entirely to cover the journal's operational costs, including system maintenance, DOI registration, layouting, and indexing.
3. Application Process
To apply for a waiver, authors must follow these steps:
-
Application Timing: Waiver requests must be submitted during the initial manuscript submission or, at the latest, during the first revision stage. Requests submitted after a manuscript has been accepted for publication will not be considered.
-
Request Letter: Authors must submit a formal Waiver Request Letter, signed by the Corresponding Author, to the editorial email address at editormpci@gmail.com.
-
Letter Content: The request letter must briefly and clearly explain the reasons for requesting the waiver and include a formal declaration stating that the research received no external funding.
4. Terms and Conditions
-
Editorial Independence: Waiver applications are kept strictly confidential and are handled separately by the MPCI administration team. The request for a fee waiver will in no way influence the peer-review process or the Editorial decision regarding the acceptance of the manuscript. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific merit.
-
Final Decision: The decision to grant a fee waiver rests entirely with the MPCI Editorial Board and is final.
