The primary focus of the journal is on the rigorous scientific investigation and validation of dietary interventions. We prioritize novel research that elucidates the mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, and public health implications of medicinal foods, functional ingredients, and specific nutrients. The journal invites submissions of original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and short communications covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
Medicinal Foods and Ethnobotany: Scientific evaluation of traditional medicinal foods and herbs (e.g., Jamu), characterization of bioactive compounds, and their pharmacological effects.
Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals: Development, clinical trials, and safety assessment of foods and dietary supplements with demonstrated physiological benefits.
Clinical Nutrition: The role of medicinal foods and specialized nutritional therapy in the prevention and management of chronic and metabolic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
Human Nutrition and Metabolism: The biochemical and physiological impact of nutrients and non-nutrient food components on human metabolism, cellular function, and gene expression.
Lifespan Nutrition: Nutritional requirements and the role of medicinal foods during critical life stages, including pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and aging.
