Focus and Scope
The Journal of Indonesia Applied Nutrition (JIAN) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research that bridges the gap between nutritional science and its practical application.
Our primary mission is to provide an evidence-based platform for improving public health and nutrition outcomes, with a specific emphasis on the Indonesian context, as well as other regions worldwide.
Scope of Interest
We welcome original research, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses in the following areas:
- Public Health & Community Nutrition: Strategies for malnutrition prevention (stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies), community-based interventions, and nutrition education programs.
- Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics: Applied medical nutrition therapy for communicable and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevalent in tropical regions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and infectious diseases.
- Food Science & Functional Foods: The development and evaluation of local indigenous foods, food fortification, and the nutritional impact of traditional Indonesian processing techniques.
- Institutional & Foodservice Management: Nutritional management in schools, hospitals, and workplaces, including food safety and quality assurance in large-scale catering.
- Nutritional Epidemiology: Large-scale studies on dietary patterns, food security, and the nutritional transition within developing economies.
- Maternal and Child Nutrition: Targeted research on the first 1,000 days of life, adolescent nutrition, and reproductive health.
